Mammograms Matter Initiative in Collaboration with BarbaraCares

Summary
Project Funding Overview
Impact of Investment

The goal of BarbaraCares’ Mammograms Matter Health Initiative is to address the financial barriers and the varying social determinants of health (SDOH) faced by individuals at risk of a late-stage breast cancer diagnosis. Through our Community Partnership Program and the dedication of Foundation 56, we were able to reach and serve those in the community most in need of a life-saving mammogram. Funding supported free at no-cost screenings for women across the DFW metroplex. Below is data detailing service delivery in 2023 and 2024, along with demographic and needsbased information for supported individuals through this collaborative program.

Funding Assistance Provided to the BarbaraCares Foundation has totaled $25,490 USD from October 2023 to present. This support has allowed us to reach individuals who would otherwise go without a breast cancer screening due to financial or employment barriers. Through this collaboration, more people are receiving timely mammograms, increasing the chance of detecting disease early and improving long-term outcomes.

The Impact on Investment from Foundation 56 is based on all the individuals served directly through the funding provided to BarbaraCares:
• Participants Screened: 100%
• Commitment To Monthly Self Breast Exams: 100%
• Uninsured Individuals Served: 100%
• Access to Medical Binders and Tarrant Area Resource Guide: 100%
• 30/90/180/365 Day Follow-Up Agreement: 100%
• Repeat Participants – These figures represent individuals who have been continuously served through this funding partnership since 2023 through 2025. Notably, 58% of participants returned for screenings supported by Foundation 56 in each of the years 2023, 2024, and 2025.

(Please Note: The 42% outstanding represents a.) individuals that moved out of the area, b.) those that now have insurance that covers screenings, and c.) those that were not responsive)
